Ever After - Matte Palette | Review ★☆☆☆☆

Hey Dolls,
So todays post is going to be a review on a MUA palette i picked up a few weeks ago.
So I brought the Ever After Matte palette, which supposedly meant to help you create 'a variety of looks from subtle & natural to smokey & glam. Well after doing the swatches I guess it's safe to say for £4, you get what you pay for.
The top lighter colours didn't seem to have much pigmentation, I had to pick up alot of product (with the cheap useless double headed applicator included in the pack) to make these swatches. And to me personally they all look nearly exactly the same. Maybe it just doesn't work on my skin tone?
The second layer however did have a bit more pigmentation, and I did like the look of Penny, truffle and smoke shades. But 3 out of 10 isn't something to celebrate. Hopefully I may be able to use some of the shades as a base, I'll just need to play around with it and see what I come up with.
I guess I was slightly disappointed as I had used their Heaven on Earth palette before in the past and loved the product. Not only was it only £1 back then but It was well pigmented and easy to apply and blend with other shadows.

Verdict
Slightly Disappointed -

Has anyone else tried any MUA eyeshadow palette's?

Take care

Max Factor - FaceFinity | Review ★★★★☆

Hey dolls

Heres a review on the Max factor - Face Finity - All Day Primer

So I've been using this primer for a while now, A little over a month I Believe. A friend of mine, donated it to me as she received it in a GlossyBox, but swears by her primer and didn't want to try it. So its a win for me :). Before this primer I was originally using a Brightening Face Primer by Benefits (my review) which was my favourite primer for a while but I think this one has come pretty close.
Pros
1.Great price
Only  £10.99 for a 30ml bottle this is a huge saving for me as benifits was £22.50 for 11ml bottle
2. Long lasting
Can take you from day to night
3. Feels good on skin
Very light weight and moisturising, yet helps give a matt finish and eliminates oiliness even without powder
4. Great value
A little can go a very long way, 1 pump is more than enough for my whole face
5. Easy to use
Cute sleek design and easy to use pump which has a handy turn lock
6. Added Bonus
It has SPF 20 for a bit more protection from the elements
Cons
1. Doesn't do much when worn solo, except moisturise I don't get a glow. But thats only a con when compared to Benefits

Verdict
Love's it  -
Its been great during the warmer weather, hopefully it holds up over the winter.

Take care

Laura Mercier - Foundation and Loose Powder | Review ★★★☆☆

Hey Dolls

So the foundation I usually use throughout the year is usually a shade darker then I am, I've always done this as my neck is slightly darker and I like the tanned look, I think it gives of a healthy glow. This is also usually an advantage, as my foundation then usually fits me perfect when summer does come around. But this summer however I actually got a lot darker so my  concept didn't work this year :(. However it's not all bad news as it gave me a chance to try out this foundation and loose powder by Laura Mercer. I've been using it since the beginning of August now so I think I can give a decent review so here goes.
Laura Mercier
Moisture Surpreme Fondation - Rich Sienna
Invisible Loose Setting Powder - Universal
Swatches Of the Products
P.S The Powder can actually be blended in a lot more
but I wanted to show it fresh on
Review
Ok so first of all the overall packaging, It's not very eye catching, it's very simple. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I think the silver sleek look does add a bit of class and sophistication to the product.

Powder
Invisible Loose Setting Powder |Colour: Universal|11.34g |John Lewis Price: £29 |link to Product

Pros
1. Its Light Weight, and easy to use
2. It actually is invisible, When applied it gives of a flawless look and matts down the shiny look the foundation gives off.
3. Last all day, No need to re apply
4. A little goes a long way
5. Small & Compact design

Cons
1. If you do accidentally put to much on it can look ghostly which can then take a while to blend in.
2. It Is a bit costly at £29, But you pay for quality

Foundation
Moisture Supreme Fondation |Colour: Rich Sienna |30ml  |JohnLewis Price: £34 |Link to product
Pros
1. Easy to use pump bottle
2. Great Colour Match
3. Easy and smooth application with decent coverage

Cons
1. Very Oily, gives off a shiny look if worn without the powder
2. Stings your eyes if you accidentally get some in.
3. Quite expensive at £34
4. Strong smell, but that goes once applied to face

Verdict
Overall, I must say that the finishing products together work very well, they defiantly do complement one another.

But separately I am not a fan of the foundation at all, so defiantly won't be purchasing again in a hurry. I do however love the powder, I have tried it with my MaryKay and Mac Foundation and it works wonders so the powder is a WIN!!!!.

Denman Brush | Review ★★★★★

Hey Dolls

So after looking at loads of hair tutorials on youtube I've realised quite a lot of the curly haired girls were using a Denman brush to style or detangle there hair.  I already had quite a good brush that I would swear by, but I decided to try this one out.
Review
So I've had it this brush for a month now, And I am loving it. It is absolutely great on my thick and very curly 4B/4C hair, It doesn't snag and has cut down my detangling time by nearly half compared to my old paddle brush. It was also a great price at £6.99 from Superdrugs, this was the 'Styling Brush' and they have other types, but I'm happy with this one.

Verdict
★★★★★ - Denman Brush Is A Must

Has anyone else used this brush or any other one from their range?

Fur Nail Varnish

Hey guys,
Here's a review on this fur nail varnish by Pretty.

I came across this fur nail varnish whilst in the pharmacy the other day and thought it was worth trying out, Plus it was only £1 lol. I had been considering trying out the Fur-Effect Nails for a while now but couldnt find them anywhere so I thought this would be a close alternative.

So above are the pictures of the final outcome of the varnish.
I was actually surprised at how smooth the finish was, I thought It would feel a bit like glitter varnish but it doesn't at all, which I think is a big pro. I stopped at 2 coats, as I still wanted the blue to be seen, but I feel as though 1 or 2 more layers would give you a great full coverage fur look.

Has anyone else tried anything similar?

Britney Spear's Believe - Review

Hey dolls

So in this post I'll be reviewing the Britney Spears Believe eau de perfume that I recently purchased.
So, I was in beauty base today, going to top up on some new nail varnishes and get a new bottle of my favourite Rihanna Reb'l Fluer perfume. So while I was in there I saw this britney spears Believe perfume, It had a weird but gorgeous bottle which drew me to it, I always have a love for bottles and packaging. So I had to smell it and I instantly feel in love. It has an absolutely gorgeous smell, its a very sweet, kind of fruity smell, Its quite hard to explain but it is very feminine with a hint of sophistication. The smell also seems to be long lasting so far since i sprayed on the sample which is a mega plus in my books.
So I ended up getting the 1oz/30ml bottle, as Its cute and travel sized. And Its in My favourite colours Purple & Green :). I was also extra happy as It was on sale for £9.99, from £20 :D yay!!
You can get a better look at the bottle here
I also love the slogan: The Greatest Freedom is to believe in yourself.

My 2013 Favourites

Hey Doll's,
Can You believe 2013 has gone by so quickly. I hope everyone had a great year. So as were going into 2014 I decided to do a 2013 Favourites post. So this was a very hard list to make as I didnt want to make the post to long so I separated it into categories, So here are my top 8 Favourites of 2013.

1) My favourite shoes

This would easily have to be my Curved wedged heels.

They are super comfortable which allows me to wear them all day . They're are bold shaped and I love the colour which can help bring a little 'Flavour' and 'style' to an otherwise boring outfit.

You can check out previous post with my baba's here:  NewShoes & OOTD

2) My favourite Hair Product
this would have to be my John Frieda Frizz ease.

I Love, love, love this product it does exactly what it says on the bottle. It moisturise's, add's shine and lust, and most importantly leaves my hair felling soft and frizz free. Also it may seem like a small tub but believe me a little goes a very long way. Defiantly a 10/10 in my books.

You can check out my full review here: John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE

 3) My Favourite Accessory
would be my Black and white aztec hairband.

It can adds a bit of texture to any hairstyle (and camouflage a bad hair day x_x lol). Also as it is black and white it goes with most outfits and the aztec print can help bring an outfit together.

Previous post with my hairband can be seen here: WinterLook book & Braid hairstyles

4) My favourite Piece of Makeup
Without a doubt mascara wins.

I couldn't choose between these two piece but there both from Maybelleine so I can counted them as 1 cant I? lol. I love both of these as they help elongate and thicken my otherwise none existent eyelashes and there non-expensive which is a win win.  If I could only use one product Mascara would defiantly win, as I think It helps to widen the eyes and makes me look a lot more awake.

Full review here: Maybelline Review

5) My favourite none fashion/beauty related
Ok so my none beauty related thing would have to be my Mickey mouse head cushion.

I only got this recently as a gift on my birthday (28 Sept), and it made the list. Maybe I'm a bit bias as I love all things disney put this hands down is the cutest cushion I have ever seen. and its super soft and comfy to hug or lean on when watching a film.
6) My Favourite Nail Tool
So I could decide on a favourite nail varnish brand or shade so instead I have picked my nail Enamel dryer.

I love this product It helps my nails dry a lot quicker so I'm not having to sit around hopelessly waiting like I used to before I knew this existed. I've had this quite a long while now so it does last very long and it was very inexpensive at £1 a bottle.

First posted here: Olympia Beauty
7) My Favourite Perfume
This would have to be my Rihanna Reb'l Fluer.

I love the smell it's has a gorgeous, sexy, and very feminine scent, which I always get complimented on when wearing it. It is also very light and not to overpowering. I also love the bottle design and it looks lovely on my dressing table.

The bottle even inspired an NOTD, Check it out here: Reb'l Fluer NOTD
8) Overall Beauty Pruduct
Pure Natural Shea Butter

This thing does wonders, I've been using it in my hair and skin for the past year now and I have to say it does wonders. I know have noticeable smother skin, and its much softer. It has also helped clear up scars and blemishes. It has also helped make my hair feel stronger, softer, moisturised and a lot more manageable which i feel has helped with the hair growth and length I have gotten this year. This is why I love this product, I can't imagine not using it anymore.

So those are a list of my 8 Favourites of 2013 Has anyone else tried any of these?

Let me know so of your favourites in the comments below.I hope everyone had a great 2013 and managed to find new pieces and products that they love and can continue using them over the year to come :).

John Frieda: Luxurious Volume - Review

Hey Dolls
Some of you might remember that I had previously reviewed John Frieda's FRIZZ-EASE range, which I absolutely loved, you can check out the post HERE. So I was really excited to try out another one of there collections. So this is the Luxurious Volume collection, which consists of the 'Touchably Full' Shampoo and conditioner, Blow dry Lotion and a Blow out spray. Which promises to give you great volume and "Luxurious Soft Hair"

Ok so I washed and blow dried my hair with these products this morning and so far I'm loving the results. Personally My hair isn't to fine anyway so I didn't really need 'Volumeising' but i still got great results.

The Shampoo: Again its not sulphate free :(, But it's a really great shampoo. It's very cleansing, lathers up and has a great slip. It also has a very pleasant and refreshing smell to it.
The Conditioner: This has a similar smell to the shampoo. Its very moisturising making it great for detangling. It left my hair with a very soft and silky feeling and helped make my curls pop :).
I wanted to stop there but then I wouldn't of been able to try out the blow drying lotions and sprays
Blow Dry Lotion: So I applied this to my lightly towel dried hair.
Very light weight, and a little goes a long way. And it also has a great smell. But I don't feel although it lifted my roots. But as I said before, I have thick hair anyway so I don't think anymore could be done lol.
Blow out spray: I then applied this before drying and again whilst almost dry.
It is a light weight spray, non drip which is a plus. It has a great fruit smell and This left my hair feeling very smooth and frizz free.

Overall I really liked the products, This range surprisingly turned out to be very moisturising, It had a great slip which enables easier detangling. The products also have a great smell and leave your hair with a gorgeous fruity scent. After using the products my hair feels very thick, full and soft with a great sheen. So Im very pleased :)

Jamaica Shoulder/Cross body bag Review

Hey dolls

So today I'm going to be reviewing my new bag that I recently got from bagable. Its Called a Jamaican Shoulder/Cross Body bag, which looks very similar to a 'sactual bag' which you may already know I have a big love for.

So heres a look at the bag.
You can check out the original picture here

Pros
-The bag is made out of a strong sturdy material, so seems as though it will defiantly last long.
-Its very stylish, I'm loving the pop of colour that the Lime brings to the otherwise beige and black colour. It goes with the whole colour blocking which has been in this spring summer season.
- Very spacious, It has 3 big compartments, as well as a zipped section in the middle and back. and individual pockets.
- I also received a few Compliments when I wore it to a BBQ on Sunday
-Only £45 so I think Its great value for money
-The website bagable, had great communication and fast shipping. Which is a win in my books :)

Cons
-More of a confusion then a con, but its called Cross body bag, yet there wasn't a strap long enough to go other my body.

Kindly modelled by my sister:)
Here's a look at the inside of the bag

My new Brushes have arrived :)

Hey guys,

So I wanted to get some new brushes, Usually I buy mine of of E.L.F or buy them in super drugs, but i decided I wanted a set so they all matched. I first looked on MAC as they're brushes are greatly recommend although they weren't to expensive individually buying quite a few would be, and I was looking to buy a whole set. Then my friend told me that ebay had some good quality dupes thats when I came across these bad boys :)

Quick Review
  • All the brushes are soft to touch, feel great on my skin. Which would suggest good blending once I use them.
  • There is a great variation of brushes.
  • Love the sleek black colour
  • A few stray hairs on the bigger brushes (as expected) but I can easily fix that up
  • Great price £12.78 including postage and it came the next day :)
This is how the case looks when it is folded up

Fearne Cotton - Shimmering Eyes Swatches

Hey guys
So I received this Shimmering Eyes set , by Fearne Cotton, for christmas from one of my cousins. It contains a eyeshadow base, brush, 2 glitters and 2 shimmering shadows.
Here are the swatches of the shadows, the two shadows are really pigmented. Although it is very loose and easy to pick up and work with. The glitters however were quit messy and a lot was needed to make these swatches. However I think the colours are really pretty and I'm looking forward to trying them out on a EOTD :)
I really like the eyeshadow base. It is very creamy and makes a really good base colour, I've tried it with other shadows and it helps colours stay on and blend well together, which will defiantly be good for when i try out the glitter.

Has anyone else used glitter eye shadows before and are they easy to work with?
I hope everyone has a great week, take care

Sleek True colour Lipstick in Cherry (Review)

Hey Guys
So yesterday I brought a new lipstick. I was looking for something to wear to a christmas party I have coming up and wanted to sort out my look from now.
Swatch
So as it is the festive season and warm colours are on trend, I wanted a warm colour that would go with my black & gold embellished dress. So as i was looking for a plum-red shade i was very pleased when I came across this Cherry 790 lipstick by Sleek in superdrugs. I love the colour and think it matched what i had in mind. And as its by sleek, its only £4.99 :)
My Review - Sleek True colour Cherry 790 (Sheen)
So here's what I thought about it after wearing it all day today
Pros
  • Long lasting colour, didn't really need to reapply not even after eating
  • The formula is very creamy which makes it very moisturising
  • Small and sleek tube easy to carry around in makeup bag
  • Great price at only £4.99
  • Unscented, so doesn't have that weird lipstick smell I have experienced with other cheaper brands
  • Great Pigmentation
Cons
  • I really don't have much to complain about

So overall I am very pleased with this purchased, I got a lot of compliments from friends which is an added bonus. And it held up during this cold weather. I had used sleek eyeshadow previously but didn't think to use their lipstick but now I'm glad i did :) Does anyone else use sleeks lipsticks or buy any other of the Sleek products?

I hope everyone is enjoying the christmas season, Take Care

John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE | Review

Hey
So heres my second post for today and its a Review on John Frieda Frizz-Ease shampoo, conditioner and Extra strength formula Hair Serum which I received yesterday.
Full Review:
So I washed my hair with these products yesterday and I have to say I really liked them, and I think that it really worked well with my hair and gave me great results.
The shampoo, Isn't sulphate free, which is something i usually look out for when buying shampoo's,  however It was very moisturising and did not dry out my hair. Its really light, smells gorgeous and really lathers up :). I only did one wash and my hair felt very clean and surprisingly tangle free.
The conditioner, like the shampoo this smelt really nice. This was also very light and a little goes a long way. It left my hair very fluffy and seemed to get rid of quite a lot of the frizz.
The serum, I think this worked really well, it moisturised my hair left it felling very soft and seemed to get rid of alot of the frizz whilst I was blow drying it out. It also allowed me to flat iron my hair in less strokes and it stayed frizz-free all day, and i haven't had to redo it today.

My Results

You can check out more of their products like their Brilliant Brunette shampoo, or the Frizz-Ease products I used on their website here: Johnfrieda.co.uk.

What do you all think of the results? Has anyone else used there products before?

NOTD - Toffee Twist

Hey guy's

So here's my recent NOTD
I absolutely love it. Its the Toffee Twist by Revlon, that I got at TheNailShow during the polish swap.  It looks quite red in the picture but it comes out as a yummy red/toffee colour.

The polish itself is quite good as well, I got a great coverage with just 1 application, and the brush spreads out quite big so 1 or 2 strokes done fine.
I haven't brought revlon nail varnish before, as I thought it was quite expensive, But I'm now in love with this brand and may be a new buyer :).

Pic in the middle has no flash
I hope everyone had a great week

Brightening Face Primer by Benefits Review

Hey guys
So I recently got a sample of benefit's Brightening face primer free in my glamour magazine earlier  this month. I've been using it for the last two weeks as a base under my foundation and now feel its time for a review.

So it say's you can "wear alone or under makeup for the look of bright, smooth skin." Which I feel is very true. I've been wearing it under either my Sleek liquid foundation or my Marykay foundation and it has done wonders. This has become a new must have in my makeup bag :)

Why I like it

  • I have been getting compliments about my face glowing :)
  • It really does give my skin an even look, which means I can use less foundation.
  • It also helps keep the foundation looking intact all day.
  • Its light, and leaves your skin feeling very smooth.
  • And the best bit about it is that a little goes a long way.
I will defiantly be purchasing this once my 7.5ml freebie is finished.
