Afro hair and Beauty Live 2013 - Internship

Hey everyone :)

So over the last few weeks I've been working alongside JJ.Rocks and Fashion Meets Music, all in preparation for 3 runway show at the Afro hair and beauty Show Live.

It was truly an amazing experience, I had a great time, meet some amazing people and was able to network. I even got a few offers from hair modelling people :).

Two of the shows both had 5 amazing designers showcasing gorgeous pieces involving floral, geometric, and afro prints one designers collection was even made from tree bark. Below are a few of my favourite pieces from some of the designers. There was loads more but unfortunately when your working you cant take a lot of pics :(

And the 3rd show was a dedication to the British Heart Foundation where we had to put on a Red & White themed show to raise awareness of the campaign. I helped customise some of these pieces so it was a great experience seeing my work go up and on stage and getting a lot of good feedback.

It seemed so weird to be behind the scenes as last year I was visiting (last years post) and this year I could see all the stress and chaos the come with a beautiful show. I still managed to grab some freebies doe :)
Did anyone else visit the show?

The Nail Show

Hey guys

So Last month on Saturday 18th August I went to ThenailShow in Shoreditch, which was their first event. I had previously applied and was given free tickets when I had gone to the Hair & Beauty Show earlier this year.
So at this show they had a few different events on their was many stalls. Some had tutorials on nail designing, They showed us how to do acrylic nail, gel, hand nail designs, 3D designs and many more.Their was also a natural products stand, with hand and body creams. You colud get manicures and hand designs really cheap and many other different stalls, including a Cupcake stand. (Hhmmmmmm)

So while I was there I went to one of the nail designing work shops. You could pick what designs you wanted to practice, I choose to do flowers. So here's one of the attempts I did, with the help by @elize_nails
There was also a polish swap bar, were you would go and you could basically swap any nail polishes you had with others at the swap bar. I had a double of the glitter 1 so I didn't mind, and I hardly used the shade of pink so this was my swap
And a raffle, every hour. Which i actually won. :) I was given £35 voucher to spend at a hair salon in Wembley. Which I'm really pleased about.

Some other designs at the show

Here is a short clip of some of the show. I didnt get much footage but it has some more designs from the show and me getting my Tribal nail designed by @EditStaceynow, You can see more of her designs here.

Pinch Punch first of the month

Hey

Sorry for my long absent, I've been really busy working at the olympics for the last month and a half. I hope everyone has had a great summer and has been enjoying the games.

It was a truly great experience.
So while we was there we also got to meet broadcasters from other countries. As they all had pins to trade and give out it became a little competition to collect as much as possible lol. Here are most of mine, some are really cute.
I meet some amazing people, learnt a lot about how a big media production works, got a great paycheck :) and best of all got to be apart of a once in a lifetime experience. It is something I will never forget.

But I will now be back to blogging, I have missed it dearly. Thanks for sticking by :) I have some great posts lined up. Including my day at TheNailShow.

I didn't take many pics but here's a few from the day

And here's some of the acts performing (not the best quality)

I hope everyone had a great week

Afro Hair & Beaty Live 2012

Hey guys
So its been a great 4day weekend I've been having due to the queen's Jubilee, went to alot of street parties which gave me a reason to wear my Union Jack leggings :). I also went to the Afro Hair And beauty Live show, during this bank holiday. This was really good fun. I Learnt a few tricks, got some tips and a bag load of freebies :).

While I was there I got a free facial and a makeover by Mary Kay.

There facial was amazing. It Left my skin feeling very smooth and gave it a flawless look. They sort of teach you rather than just give you a facial which I thought was very helpful as it allows you to get the same results at home.
They then did a foundation match and gave us a free makeover.
I really liked their products and wanted to buy everything, but as I'm not super rich :(, I brought there Foundation as it was the best match I've ever had.
This is worth £16 but i got it for £14.40 as they was doing a 10% discount on that day.
They have great products, i really recommend them, You can get more info on their products here

The olive oil stand was also doing a great offer, I got all these goodies worth over £25 for only £5. As I love a bargain I couldn't resiet :). As I don't use Gel or a relaxer, My mum gets a treat lol. But i'll be defiantly putting the rest to good use.
some free hair samples
I got during the day
Here is some highlights from the event, Including an amazing hair fashion show and some hair tutorials.
Take care
